California Recovery Divers is a highly experienced group of dedicated volunteer divers and technical experts who assist families and law enforcement in the search and recovery of drowning victims.

We are a volunteer-powered nonprofit. Every dollar we receive goes directly to our mission— no salaries, overhead, or unrelated projects.

We exist to serve - quietly and privately.

Technological expertise.

We use state of the art sidescan sonar technology to generate imagery of our underwater environments. Continuous use and training on these tools enables us to locate targets with great precision.

Custom software.

Ensuring methodical and complete searches is critical in black water recovery. We bring custom built software developed from decades of iteration to track our searches and increase our accuracy.

Continuous training.

All our volunteers go through continuous, rigorous training and hold public safety diving certifications. We draw from Emergency Services volunteers and active duty military personnel to build our teams.

Family First Approach.

With decades of drowning victim recovery experience, we engage with families with respect and compassion throughout the entire process. We do not actively engage in social media except to educate or in support of family-led social media engagement. Our Code of Honor is ironclad and our northstar.
